Life is not fair and easy on anybody. Everybody has some tension and age related problems in life, irrespective of age. To keep the body perfectly fit and tension free is not the rent we have to pay to exist in this world. Turning old is not a choice but living healthy is. Whether we are middle aged, we can live a reasonably peaceful and healthy life with self-confidence, eating right and balanced food, exposing ourself to sun shine within 3 hours of sun rise and within 3 hours before sunset. Sunrays are good source of vitamin D, practicing daily yogabhyas, compatible with our age and health status etc.

After 50 years of age, we begin to lose leg muscles strength more rapidly leaving us more prone to falls. Nearly one third of elderly population falls every year and about half the falls need hospitalization and are number one cause of injuries, resulting in hip and ankle joint fractures, cuts and even serious head and brain injuries which can be fatal.

Our legs and feet are the roots and foundation of are body. To strengthen leg muscles, massage your leg by rubbing from the ankle upward with olive oil or any ayurvedic oil. It will help to improve the circulation of blood. Stand up slowly after lying down or sitting. Be sure that you are steady before walking. If you’re unsteady on your feet, use a walking stick, wear knee cap, lumbar belt, rubber sole shoes to minimize the risk of fall and strains on your knees and lower back. To boost your balance, stand on alternate foot for about 30 seconds, atleast, 03 times twice in a day, by holding the back of chair.

Health is that characteristic of life that enables a person to live long. The maintenance of health and fitness helps a person to be in a general state of well-being. It provides the ability to perform physical actions without being tired or restless. However, the maintenance of health requires regular physical exercise. Those consuming a balanced diet are less prone to medical ailments.

Fitness does not only mean to be physically active. It also means a healthy mental state of the person. An unhealthy person cannot enjoy the fruits of life like enjoying eating, watching sports, or other luxuries of life. It that health is wealth. In order to maintain good health we need to take care of hygiene and sanitation all around us. Our diet must consist of green and fresh vegetables, fruits, milk, minerals, vitamins, protein. Yoga must be included in our daily routine to maintain the blood pressure, sugar, and immunity level.

Healthy habits improve ones physical appearance, mental stability and the ability to perform activities in a better way. It helps to lead a stress free life. To boost your mental strength and health you should always be happy, so happiness can be considered as the result as well as a part of a healthy and fit life.
