- Aam Aadmi Party
The Political Party was launched in 2012 with an aim to combat corruption in India. The party was formed by Arvind kejriwal and other social activists. He had come out of the India against corruption movement and founded the party. The party contested the Delhi assembly elections in 2013 and won 28 seats out of 70. Although it did not have majority, it formed the government with the help of congress eventually resigning within 49 days with differences over the Jan Lokpal bill. But the next elections in 2015 the party won 67 seats out of the 70, with the BJP winning 3 seats. Now AAP is the ruling party of Delhi with Kejriwal as the CM.
- Lok Satta Party
Lok Satta party was launched by Jayaprakash Narayan, a former IAS officer and an activist from Andhra Pradesh. Since 1996, Lok Satta movement was a non-political entity which fought for causes like reduction in Cabinet, RTI and other social issues. The organisation was later turned into a political party in 2006. Jaya Prakash Narayan went on to become the MLA for Kukatpally constituency in the now Telangana state in 2009 elections.
- Progress Party
The political party “Progress Party” was launched by the supporters of the Russian anti-corruption crusader Alexei Anatolievich Navalny. Navalny was a lawyer by profession, who later went on to become the biggest critic of Vladimir Putin. Navalny later joined the party in 2013. He had contested the elections in 2013 and became the mayor of Moscow. He had an impressive vote share of around 27% followed by Putin’s party which had 52% vote share. Navalny has been arrested many times and has also been accused of fraud in funding of his party.
- Partido X Party
The announcement of the political party was done by Simona Levi, an equivalent to the post of spokesperson of the party. The party was enrolled on December 17, 2012. The political ideology of Partido X is logic. Democracy and Point is the only agenda of the party. The party came into existence back of the street protests in Spain. The political party was able to challenge the established political parties like people’s Party and Spanish Socialist Workers party which were present in the set up for over three decades.
- New Era Party
The New Era party was a political party launched by Einars Repse, who was a politician and a central banker. The party was founded in 2002 with an aim of combating corruption in Latvia. The party won an impressive share of 24% in the legislative election that year and won 26 out of 100 seats to become the largest party. Repse later on lost his popularity due to a sequence of scandals involving his party. The party was eventually merged with the two other parties to form a new political outfit named Unity.
- Miro Cerar
Miro Cerar was also a lawyer before he turned into an anti-corruption crusader in Slovenia. He launched a political party on his name on June 2, 2014. He contested the parliament elections and won 36 seats out of 90 seats and went on to become the Prime Minister of Slovenia. He is the current Prime Minister of his country.
- Gana Mukti Sangram Assam
The new political outfit “Gana Mukti Sangram Assam”was launched by Akhil Gogoi the prominent face of protests in Assam. He has been an active member of the Anna Hazare led anti-corruption movement. He and the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) a peasants’ body have been leading protests in Assam against corruption. He is now ready fight the election against the three-time Chief Minister from Indian National Congress.
