IPL Heroes Who Failed At International Level

  1. Dwayne Smith

    With his recent performances with the bat, he has shown how dangerous player he is. He has consistently performed at the IPL with the bat and occassionally with his gentle medium pacers. He has now become a permanent member of the CSK team. But he has failed miserable playing for his home country West Indies. He averages less than 20 in his international career and thus is no where near a call up for the national duty.

    The leading wicket taker for the CSK in their inaugral edition of the IPL was given a call for the national duty in traiangular series in Bangladesh after an injury to Sreesanth. He was handed the debut cap against HongKong in the Asia cup where he ended up with 0/11 in his 5 overs. The next match, he was expensive choice who gave away 65 runs in his 8 overs, which turned out to be his last match so far. He played IPL till 2013 and was later discarded by then franchisees KXIP.

    The Lanky leg spinner made his presence felt in the 2010 edition of IPL back of his economicalbowling spells for the Deccan Chargers and the next edition for the Pune Warriors India. Although he was not a regular part of the Punjab ranji team, he was given a national call purely depending upon his IPL exploits. He was selected for the West indies tour in 2011 and had an impressive debut. He went on to play 3 more ODIs and 2 T20I for India. He is now playing CSK.

  4. Manoj Tiwary

    Although he made his debut just before IPL started, he was in limelight in wake his performances for his IPL frnachise delhi dare devils and Kolkata Knight Riders. He was supposed to make his debut against tBangaldesh butt unfortunately injured his shoulder during the practise.He had to wait for 3 more years to play for India. Despite of talent and good performances, he was been able to represent India In only 9 ODIs so far, where he has scored a century against the West Indies.He has also played 2 T20I for India

  5. Parwinder Awana

    The delhi pacer was called up for the national duty after an impressive IPL session for the Kings XI Punjab. He has so far played 55 T20 matches and has picked up wickets at an impressive rate. He was picked up the 4th test against England in 2012 eventually making his debut against the same side in T20I. He played 2 T20Is for India and bowled 6 overs giving away 71 runs at an expensive economy of 11.83. He has not been in national reconing after that.

  6. Saurabh Tiwary

    Saurabh Tiwary was mainly popular because of his hair style similar to that of Dhoni. He was called as mirror image of Dhoni being a left handed batsman. He was a vital cog in the Mumbai Indians team in 2010 when they finished as runners up. He scored 3 half centuries during that season and behind that performance was given a national call in the Asia cup side. He made his debut against Australia and the next being against New Zealand., which was his last.

  7. Sudeep Tyagi

    He was considered as the next big in the Indian cricket after his bowling performances in Ranji. In the second edition he was picked by the CSK and that proved to be a turning point in his career. He had a memorable IPL and later that year he was picked up for the India A side touring Australia. He made his ODI debut against Sri lanka but the match was called off due to dangerous pitch. He later played 3 more ODIs and was undone by injuries and loss of form

  8. Naman Ojha

    Naman Ojha was a prominent fixture for his Ranji side Madhya Pradesh. He came to limelight during the 2nd edition of IPL where he scored 2 fifties playing for Rajasthan Royals and was a vital cog in their setup. He was rewarded with a national call up later that year and was picked for the squad for the tour of Zimbabwe. He played 1 ODIs and 2 T20Is. But could not do justice for his place scoring 1 run in his only ODI and 12 in his 2 T201s. He was later picked up by Delhi and now plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
