Now that families are becoming more nuclear, we are losing touch of our traditions. Grandparents are someone who is irreplaceable. They love us endlessly and also correct us when we go wrong. They are blessing which not everyone is fortunate enough to have.
Grandparents are always there to guide us. They bring different experience with them as they have lived in different generation and seen things more than us. They always want good things for us. It’s very important to know where you belong to and what were your elders lived through. They act as a source of inspiration in one’s life. They make up believe in purpose of life.
Grandparents have a lot of stories to tell about their life and experiences. Everyone should listen to them as there is so much that you can learn from them. One gets to know their struggle and perception through their stories. They influence our lives in a very different way altogether. They are like a binding force who binds the family together.
Children living with grandparents are less alone as compared to the one who doesn’t live with them. They are always there to play with you, listening to your daily blabber and lot more things. They are like shield that protect us from any bad things. As they have gone through thick and thin in their life, one can always go them for advice. They help us in making right decisions and inculcate values and ethics in our lifestyle.
People need to understand that their place is not in old-age homes. Nowadays, we have got so much busy with our lives that somewhere we have left them behind. They hadn’t grown our parents to live in the old-age homes. They are not burden in anyone’s life. All their life they have toiled hard to give our parents a safe and beautiful life.
It’s because of their upbringing that we have strong values and ethics. Now in their old age we should respect them and spend time with them. All they want is our time. I hope people understand this!
